Project Description: Alfreton MRF - Planning, Design and Waste Management Licensing

Client: HW Martin Ltd.

Introduction

HW Martin wanted to develop a large Materials Recycling Facility on an undeveloped plot of land at the Clover Nook Industrial Estate near Alfreton in Derbyshire.

Egniol were commissioned to provide all design services and contract documents and to prepare planning and waste management licence applications for the development.

Project Delivery

With our experience in waste management planning and design, we were able to offer HW Martin complete support across all aspects of this project.

Egniol were responsible for all the preparatory work for the planning application, which included consultations with planning officers. As a result of our involvement, the application was finalised in just six months.

We also handled the waste management licence application, liaising with the EA and producing support information for submission of the application - again, all within the same 6 month timeframe.

Our additional responsibilities included site investigation and flood risk assessment; structural engineering services and associated site works, plus the production of planning drawings, tender documentation, architectural detail, drainage design and contract documentation for the 47,000sq ft facility.
