Water Management With a growing awareness that water is a precious resource comes a growing emphasis on responsible water stewardship. Experienced planners and engineers in Egniol’s Environment Department take that responsibility very seriously, working closely with the Environment Agency, Sewerage Undertakers and other third parties to obtain all the relevant permissions and consents for adoption. Flood Assessments Successful development in flood risk areas demands cost effective provision for flood protection, storm water balancing and attenuation. Adotpting an end-to-end service, our team is able to look after all aspects of assessment and design, at every stage including: • Pre-development flood susceptibility and sewerage provision planning • Flood map challenges • Flood Assessments in accordance with PPS 25 in England and TAN 15 in Wales • Hydrologic modelling using the Institute of Hydrology’s Flood Estimation Handbook (FEH) • Hydraulic river modelling using ISIS and HEC-RAS • Flood routing modelling • Flood alleviation and flood mitigation Surface Water management Our reputation for success in the strategic and technical management of surface water has been built up over a number of years and across a broad range of landmark schemes that includes: • Complex sewer modelling using the Micro Drainage suite of programmes and the design of new works for adoption by water companies under Section 104 of the Water Industry Act 1991 • Preparation of detailed drainage design drawings • Pumping Stations and rising mains design • Drainage feasibility studies • Surface water management schemes for landfill sites (including discharge consent applications, flow attenuation and land drainage provision) • Ground water management • Surface water management plans for control of surface runoff on site Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDs) Following the guidelines established by CIRIA’s ‘Sustainable urban drainage systems – design manual for England and Wales’ and ‘Sustainable drainage systems – hydraulic, structural and water quality advice’, Egniol offers a full programme for compliance in Suds Foul Water Management Egniol engineers are available for consultation on all aspect of design for foul water management, from traditional piped systems to pumping stations and septic tanks. Among the services they offer are: • Advice on sewerage and sewage treatment facilities • Sewage treatment for lodge and caravan parks • Design of foul water systems for adoption by water companies under Section 104 of the Water Industry Act 1991. |
