Most new industrial and commercial developments require the grant of planning permission from the Local Planning Authority (LPA). Any application for permission to undertake the majority of these projects will need to be supported by an Environmental Statement. For projects subject to The Town and County Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 1999, we can provide a specialist input on the basis of proven technical expertise in :-

Ground investigation.
Geotechnical and slope stability assessments.
Hydrogeology, hydrology and water management / use.
Air quality assessment and modelling.
Contaminated land assessment.
Waste management.
Prescribed industrial processes.
Application preparation and lodging.
Ecology.
Planning policy.
In-house experience allows our team to produce ‘scoping’ reports, for discussion and agreement with the LPA. Our project management skills are utilised to ensure the cost-effective preparation and timely delivery of complex applications and Environmental Statements, particularly when external, specialist, partners are used within a team approach.

We can undertake the preparation of baseline environmental studies in order to confirm the environmental context within which any site sits.

Based on our knowledge of the proposed development, we can then assess the predicted impact which it may pose, and on the basis of national or industry standards or targets, are able to recommend specific amelioration measures to reduce potential impacts to an acceptable level.

During the preparation of an application of an Environmental Statement we regularly act as the liaison point between our Client and statutory consultees. Once an application has been lodged with an LPA we also liaise with the Authority, and enter into negotiations on behalf of our Clients.
