Increasingly, waste management planning and subsequent ‘permitting’ of facilities are viewed as an integrated process. Unless managed correctly, this may place an unwanted strain on Client resources and budgeting.

With an excellent working knowledge of statutory requirements, we can offer a wide range of services required to secure all necessary ‘permits’ prior to the operation of a waste management facility. Similarly, we are able to secure modifications to extant ‘permits’, where legislation allows. For the waste management industry these facilities include :-

Landfill sites.
Transfer stations.
Composting facilities.
MRF’s.
Tax exempt sites, subject to HM Customs and Excise approval.
We can advise on the following legislation.

Landfill Directive
Preparation of Landfill Conditioning - Plans in accordance with guidance.
The preparation of a ‘risk-based’ improvement plan required prior to the 16th July 2002 to enable sites to remain operational.
Waste Management Licensing – (EPA, 1990 and WML Regulations, 1994)
Pre-application consultations with the Environment Agency.
The preparation of the application, including all supporting documents, for new sites
and for modifications to extant licences.
Negotiation of conditions.
submission of Appeals and negotiation of terms
PPC Permitting – (the 2000 Regulations)
Used as above, through the newly incorporated legislation, using current guidance and ‘library’ conditions, for new sites, or existing facilities after ‘substantial change’ has been demonstrated.
