Current Vacancies 

Roles and Responsibilities 
 
Undertake structural design calculations in a variety of materials including steel, concrete, timber and masonry in accordance with British Standards / Euro Codes to successfully deliver projects for our Clients. 
Implement internal QMS procedures and ensure all designs comply with the company’s internal checking protocols. 
Full project management of design projects of all sizes including commercial delivery of projects, ensuring timescales and budgets are met. 
Input into the preparation of fee proposals and develop associated design scopes. 
Lead the design process from concept through to completion on projects of all sizes. 
Undertake coordination with other professionals and contractors as appropriate. 
Liaise with Clients and other members of the design team to ensure designs meet the Client brief including attendance at design team meetings / site meetings as required. 
Work independently on smaller projects, or as part of a team on more significant schemes. 
Collaborative working with other Egniol Consulting offices across different disciplines. 
Lead structural inspection projects. 
Mentoring of more Junior Engineers. 
Actively pursue new business opportunities. 
 
Skills & knowledge requirements: 
 
Excellent knowledge of all relevant British Standards and Design Codes. 
Designs will be produced by hand calculation or using Design Software as appropriate to the nature and magnitude of the project and to underpin this you will be expected to have an excellent understanding of Engineering Principles. 
Proficient in the use of design software such as Tedds, Tekla, & CADS. 
Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously. 
Enthusiastic and self-motivated. 
Excellent attention to detail. 
The ability to lead a team of engineers and technicians. 
Aptitude to work on your own initiative. 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
Excellent IT skills. 
Clean driving licence and use of a car. 
Good awareness of all commercial aspects of projects. 
Preferably proficient in the use of AutoCad. 
 
Qualifications 
 
Completion of Degree in relevant Engineering subject 
Minimum 7 years’ experience working in similar engineering consultancy 
Chartered member of IStructE/ICE

Ecological Clerk of Works on a range of development and restoration projects 
Liaison with Clients and other members of the environment team to ensure designs meet the Client brief including attendance at design team meetings / site meetings as required. 
Assist other members of the Environmental Services Team where required. 
Actively engage in business development where appropriate. 
Input into fee proposals where necessary. 
When required assist with the project management of design projects of all sizes including commercial delivery of projects, ensuring timescales and budgets are met. 
Undertake coordination with other professionals and contractors as appropriate, and to organise your time to ensure timely delivery of projects. 
Work independently on smaller projects, or as part of a team on more significant schemes.

Skills & knowledge requirements: 
 
Genuine and demonstrable enthusiasm for ecology and the environment. 
Sound knowledge of UK planning regulations, policy, and processes. 
Experience of delivering high quality technical work and written reports including contributing to EcIA and HRA. 
Experience of Phase 1 Habitat surveys and protected species surveys. 
Class 1 survey licence for great crested newts essential, class 2 licence desirable. 
Motivated to work both independently and as part of a team, often in remote locations and sometimes during unsociable hours. 
Experience of working as an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW). 
Good communication skills both with colleagues, clients and third parties. 
Experience of writing or securing European Protected Species Mitigation licences (EPSM) for great crested newts. 
Full driving licence and use of a car. 
A willingness to undertake travel and work away from home with overnight stays. 
Good organisational, planning and time management skills in order to handle multiple projects simultaneously. 
Enthusiastic and self-motivated. 
Aptitude to work on your own initiative. 
Good verbal and written communication skills. 
Good IT skills including a basic understanding of QGIS and Word. 
Good commercial awareness. 
 
Qualification 
 
Completion of Degree in Ecology or related discipline. 
Minimum 3 years' experience working in a consultancy environment. 
Membership of or eligible for Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
